Common Sense Minnesota TV Ads Debut

Minnesotans watching TV may notice new advertisements drawing attention to the dangers of sulfide mining in Northern Minnesota.

Common Sense Minnesota released television ads that show that proposed sulfide mines aren’t the same kind of mining that helped build Northern Minnesota’s economy, but will bring “more harm than good” to the forests and waterways of Minnesota.

Dave Zentner, a Duluth sportman who’s hunted and fished in Northern Minnesota for years, talks about the rich tradition of iron mining in Minnesota, but says the proposed sulfide mines are ultimately much riskier. Zetner cites the Mt Polley Mine disaster as an example of the dangers of sulfide mining.
